Bailon was born and raised in Oxnard, California, a predominantly Mexican-American working class suburb north of Los Angeles. He studied photography under William Hendricks at Ventura College, during which time he was the recipient of the Future Award for creativity in photography. He continued his studies at California University Channel Islands and received his B.A. in History. History provided an eye to understanding the past and a further awareness of where the world is today. Bailon’s biggest inspiration is life and observing the world around him without pretense. These keen observations on life exude in his bodies of work.
